About Us

Shyama Foundation is a non-profit organization established on 8th March 2025 by Arun Singh, an IT professional, entrepreneur, and visionary social leader. Born in Narhan village, Bhabhua (Kaimur), Arun’s early life in rural Bihar deeply influenced his outlook on community, resilience, and the importance of education. After completing his studies including a B.Sc. in Information Technology and a Master’s degree in Computer Applications he went on to work across diverse industries, rising to the position of Director of Operations at a multinational company.

Yet, despite professional success, Arun remained strongly connected to his roots. His desire to give back to the community that shaped him led to the creation of Shyama Foundation, launched on International Women’s Day 2025, symbolizing its commitment to women’s empowerment and social equity.

Our Journey

The foundation’s first initiative, “Maatritva Ki Chhaav Mein,” marked the beginning of our mission. By distributing sanitary napkins to school-going girls, we sought not only to provide access to basic hygiene but also to break the silence and taboos surrounding menstruation in rural India. This small but powerful step set the tone for the foundation’s larger vision: to address issues often overlooked, yet critical for building stronger communities.

Our Mission Expands To

As the foundation grew, so did the scope of its work. Today, Shyama Foundation actively engages in:

Reviving Tradition, Building Futures

At Shyama Foundation, we believe empowerment is not only about health and education but also about economic self-reliance and cultural pride. Our ‘Swadeshi’ program is dedicated to reviving Bihar’s indigenous craftsmanship, particularly the artistry of traditional clay idols (mitti ke Bhagwan). By cutting out exploitative middlemen and connecting artisans directly to national markets, we ensure fair earnings, dignity of labor, and preservation of heritagewhile also supporting the national vision of “Vocal for Local.”

Yet, despite professional success, Arun remained strongly connected to his roots. His desire to give back to the community that shaped him led to the creation of Shyama Foundation, launched on International Women’s Day 2025, symbolizing its commitment to women’s empowerment and social equity.

Our Promise

Shyama Foundation is not just an NGO; it is a movement. A movement to uplift, educate, and empower communities. We are guided by the belief that true change begins at the grassroots in small villages, in forgotten schools, in the lives of women and children who often go unheard.

Our promise is to:

  • Bridge the gap between tradition and technology.
  • Unlock rural potential and connect it with urban opportunities.
  • Create sustainable, inclusive, and dignified solutions that outlast charity and build lasting transformation.

Every program we undertake reflects our core values of dignity, empowerment, sustainability, and inclusivity. We envision a society where no woman is silenced by stigma, no child is denied opportunity, and no artisan is exploited for their craft.

Looking Ahead

The work of Shyama Foundation is only beginning. With each initiative, we strive to plant seeds of change that will grow into stronger, healthier, and more empowered communities. From health and education to culture and livelihood, our focus remains on creating holistic development that uplifts not just individuals, but entire generations.

We invite partners, supporters, and changemakers to join us in this journey to stand with us in our mission to transform challenges into opportunities and dreams into reality.
